Did You Know…?

That the summary of the whole scripture which is the bible is the Ten Commandments? Yes it is, in fact, the summary of the Law which is the Ten Commandments is the Two Greatest Commandments. And the very summary of the Two Greatest Commandments end in just only one single word and that is Love.

In reality, the bible itself is a love letter of God sent for each of us personally. That’s why we need to read and meditate it day and night. Have you received a love letter came from someone who personally wants to tell and show his or her love to you? What a wonderful feeling reading that letter isn’t it? In the same way, as we read the bible we should cultivate a sense of feeling of love toward God when everytime we read the bible. God first love us and by that we should develop and have that kind of feeling arising within us when we read His love letter. If it will not go on that way, bible reading will be a ritual thing and boring.

Do you want to experience the love and the exceeding excitement of bible reading? The first thing is, you must fall in love with the Law. You must love the Law and delight in the Law.

O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. (Psa 119:97)
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. (Psa 1:2)

The question now is, “How can we express that love into an action form”? Simply, it is by obeying the two greatest commandments. But how exactly can we express or perform the two greatest commandments? They are already given and that is by keeping the Ten Commandments. Not just keeping them but surpassing them which the end result will be “Love toward God and love to our neighbor”. We cultivate that kind of love within us when we surpass the law. (Matt 5: 20; 1 Jn 5:2)

The last question would be, “How can we learn more to surpass the law which is the Ten Commandments”? It is no other than anything else but through only by reading, meditating and applying the Word of God- the Bible.
