Is your hand, eye, and tongue saved from the danger of the fire of hell?
"In the spiritual condition a saved person is completely saved. But as far as the physical condition is concerned there are sin ingrained and deeply rooted and dwelling in the members of the body that must be overcome and be put to death completely".
The sin living and working in the members of the body must be put to death or else hell is awaiting for those who have their members of their body had continually, intentionally and deliberately causing them to sin.
And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. (Mar 9:43-48)
If a saved person thinks he is saved and standing firm then he should better be watchful (1Cor 10:12). He must always be in the position to watch out the members of his body that might cause him to sin.
All who claimed they are saved must understand the working of their body. The body works in its lustful desires and wants all fleshly desires. And when the lust had conceive, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. (Jas 1:15). The word “death” means “lack of spiritual life”. When the lack of spiritual life had taken place it will manifest as a lack of bible reading, lack of prayer, lack of joy of belonging and lack of serving and worshipping God.
And if a Christian lacks with those essential spiritual things needed for spiritual growth falling back to the former condition is imminent. Sin will become alive again in the members of the body until it will become slave to sin. Sin will again take a domination of the whole body as well as the whole being. Lust of the eyes and lust of the flesh will reign.
The principle of sowing and reaping applies also to the spiritual life of a saved person.
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. (Gal 6:8)
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. (Rom 6:11-13)
Overcoming and putting to death the sin dwelling in the members of the body takes time. And by surpassing the law little by little the sin “I hate to do that I do” will not dominate the members of the body.
