Paul Surpass the Law

Apostle Paul is one good example on how a Christian especially the leaders of the church in regards to the surpassing of the Law:

He did not use his right to gain material things.

If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you? If others have this right of support from you, shouldn’t we have it all the more? But we did not use this right. On the contrary, we put up with anything rather than hinder the gospel of Christ. 1Co. 9:12-13

He did not abuse his right and his power to get wealth

What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. 1Co. 9:18

The 10th commandments stated, “Do not covet”. As an apostle of Christ, Paul has the right to have more support (material and financial) but he did not use and abuse his greater rights. Paul did not covet even a single centavo. He surpass the Law heard of long ago which said “Do not covet”. In all, Paul surpassed the Law.
